Circe

I’m not a big fan of mythology. Actually, I’m not a fan at all. And I thought I’ll hate this book, it sounded a bit (a lot) boring for me. 😅 But guess what? I loved it! It was a beautiful intelligent story full of greek myth retellings.

I found Circe (the main character, daughter of God Helios) a bit hesitant and I couldn’t relate to her much, but the book itself was so so so beautifully written, so easy to read and intriguing, OMG. 😍

Many characters that we’ve heard about in the mythology books make so much more sense now, when they’re all related in one book of the story about immortal life of Circe. She met so many great characters that are familiar to us from other books: Odyssey, Prometheus, Hermes…

I googled a lot, to check if the story adds up with all the original myths, and I have to say – it has a few little differences, but nothing crazy. You can trust this book if you want to have a basic knowledge of greek mythology…

But trust me, you don’t need to be a fan of mythology to read this book!

‘I thought once that gods are the opposite of death, but I see now they are more dead than anything, for they are unchanging, and can’t hold nothing in their hands’
