When it comes to food, I’m not the healthiest person on this planet, I don’t count my sugar intake, and I don’t use any substitutes for what people say is wrong to eat if you want to look and feel good. I want what I want when I want and I’m gonna eat it.
I love munching granola for breakfast. Especially if it’s home made. There’s nothing better than granola made with maple syrup, hazelnuts, and… BUTTER.
I know, I could use coconut oil (or something?) for my homemade granola to be a little bit healthier, but, believe me – butter makes such a big flavour difference! I’ve tried many different recipes before and I say to you – I’ve found the one.
I’ve never counted exact amounts of what I use, but I can tell you exact ingredients. That would be wholemeal oats, hazelnuts, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, butter, maple syrup and a few pinches of cinnamon.
I bake it in a hot oven until everything gets golden brown and then I just let my granola cool down.
